Huey reacted to Morty in Fraud Alert - Please Read
I am ashamed to say I got scammed for £280 for a Malberg twin post scope that I really wanted that never existed. The scammer preys on our desires and we fail to see the whole picture. We want to believe it's true. I was emailed by Mike 112 telling me that Carter Klaus has a scope I am looking for and to contact carterklaus420@gmail.com to follow up. I did this and duly transferred the monies using PayPay friends and family. Big mistake he knows I had no recourse using this method and told me he couldn't get the money using goods and services. The idiot I am I fell for it hook line and sinker. There are some right scumbags out there and this chap is one of them. I wish I had done more research, I'm kicking myself now but such is life, these guys are experts at what they do. The other email address he uses are: Eddii Shaban at aliuedison123@gmail.com and majani investment at samungi50@yahoo.com
As painful and expensive as this experience has been, I hope that by putting this online I may help someone else from getting caught out and hurt.

Huey reacted to gordon in Anschutz Torque Wrench
Hi Huey, 5nm on the front two and 5.5nm on the rear two.
These were the settings that the chap who I bought the rifle from recommended.
At the moment I'm getting flyers into the 9 ring .The rifle has a stainless steel Lilja barrel and a Fat One tuner and sits in a bedded/pillared Cicognani BR stock ,the flyers are in the horizontal ,not vertical plane.
So the torque wrench was to make sure I was getting the correct torque on the four bolts (Anschutz 2013 ) And be able to try different settings if necessary?
Regards, Gordon .

Thanks for that Huey, I've looked at a few , I need one that I can I finely adjust , most of the ones I've seen, its very difficult to get spot on the same settings each time .
I have an Anschutz 2013 action with the four stock bolts ,its quite fussy on torque settings ,so thought /hoped that the AHG one would be easier to adjust ?
Regards
Gordon .

Huey got a reaction from jonalex in Upgrading The Forum
Does the forum need to change, what's the driver here?
Personally, I appreciate this forum as it is. I have met and heard opinions from shooters from all over, I have made much use of the buying and selling areas (some closer to home would say not enough selling!) and I have my interest piqued occasionally, particularly when it comes to aspects of legislation or, as Chris says, ISSF rule changes (even though I don't shoot to those rules).
To an extent, this forum is quieter due to the calibre of its patrons - what's said is in the main constructive, inciteful and self-policing, a far cry from the many examples you see with a little blue thumbsup; Facebook does not a good forum make. Yes, it's immediate, but the quality of material follows the 80:20 rule from the wrong side. I think a forum allows a more considered response and also an inherent archive - there's many a time I've gone back to a post or two because I know I can.

Not really in to the facetubetwitterers type social media here!
I have always appreciated the level of sensible comment and the considered opinions that members spend a deal of time thinking about before posting. Therefore, I would add my vote to the side that is for keeping things pretty much as they are. I would also second 10 Dots in thanking Neil for keeping the forum up and running.

Just donned my hard hat so thought I'd add my opinion.
Excellent forum, it serves it's purpose and more. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Don't assume that we are all social media FOMO addicts. Congratulations to Neil for doing such a good job in providing us this forum! 10 Dots

Hi Neil,
As I said at the British 50m- this is a great forum. It has many active users - I recently posted a query about the value of a rifle and enjoyed a prompt response.
Be assured- the forum as a whole is much appreciated. I suspect when ISSF rule changes come in it will again be a hive of activity!

This is getting old and is becoming somewhat of a slight to all. You could put it in your profile if you need to keep saying it.
