jonty Posted 28 November 2012 Share Posted 28 November 2012 HELP- There is a lady at our club who is wanting to pursue Biathalon shooting. Does anyone know of a dedicated site for this discipline? Has anyone got any gear they are willing to sell which can be used, including a rifle. Please PM me and I will pass on your info. Thanks Jonty

PeteJ Posted 29 November 2012 Share Posted 29 November 2012 (edited) http://www.biathlonsport.com/ There's an old site here, but with some interesting comments/insights: http://web.onetel.com/~hughp/ We have a biathlon shooter at our club. Apparently the Izhmash is the affordable alternative to Anschutz (http://www.izhmash.r...duct/bi-7.shtml) ... then there's the indoor training air rifle and target to buy, plus skis and rollerskis... I can sympathise though. The coverage on Eurosport is excellent and they make it look soooo easy ;-) There's some other banter here: http://www.targettalk.org/viewforum.php?f=12 Edited 29 November 2012 by PeteJ

BigAl Posted 30 November 2012 Share Posted 30 November 2012 Having many years ago stayed ar Budleigh Farm (which for those that don't know is in the Dartmoor National Park) and had some coaching with Arthur Harvey I asked him about Biathlon (he is the Biathlon teams shooting coach). He said I should try running around the field behind the range 3 times and comming back and try hitting the 50m aiming mark with 5 consecutive shots. I declined as the field was on the side of a 45 degree hill! That was enough to put me off to be honnest. Alan
