I think a finer pitch allows for better torque retention and generally holds up better than course threads, especially seeing as there are only 2 screws. Barnard and Remington also use fine threads, but in Imperial sizes.
1/4 UNF for Barnard, but UNF is only slightly finer than 'normal' metric.

Not sure about Anschutz 64, but Anschutz 54 are M6 fine (6 x 0.75) - Intershoot has bolts of that thread, various lengths.
