karen762 Posted 28 November 2012 Share Posted 28 November 2012 Hiya I have a rifle for sale which I think is a 1907 (hopefully someone can confirm) but not sure what price I should be looking for. Someone in NSRA shop said £550 to £600 but would appreciate more advice. A friend is interested in buying it for his son but not for a while and he might find something else in the meantime. Its in good nick but I just don't shoot it any more. It has the sights and a basic buttplate and last time I shot it it worked great. If anyone is interested let me know or can advise what I should sell it for. Not really wanting to sell in NSRA shop as could be awkward as I work there! Pic attached - pick up from Bisley would be best if you are interested. Love karen
BigAl Posted 28 November 2012 Share Posted 28 November 2012 Karen if the foresight is mounted to the barrel by a block it would be an 1807 and if it has rails milled directly on the barrel then it would be a 1907. I think that £600 is a reasonable price for a private sale for a 1907. A hundred to a hundred and fifty pounds less for an 1807 depending on age. It is easy to date manufacture as the proof marks on the barrel have a two letter date code. The code starts with A=0 and no letter I. tim s Posted 28 November 2012 Share Posted 28 November 2012 1807, the barrel has the foresight block. A 1907 will have a slightly fancier stock.
