Guest yardman9 Posted 4 August 2007 Share Posted 4 August 2007 Now here's something completely different for sale, or rather to give away to anyone who is interested. Yes, free of charge to anyone who wants them!!! Owing to a number of vandal attacks, we have replaced the existing "Trafford Tile" roof sheets with steel. The building is an extended Banbury sectional double garage. The roof sheets are 3'6'' wide x 8'6'' long. We have approx 80, some are asbestos, some are modern cement fibre. Most are in good condition as are the ridge pieces. These sheets can also be used to vertical clad anything as well as being used as roof sheets. They are on site near Bognor Regis, West Sussex. We can arrange local delivery, but prefer to have them collected, they are heavy!! Please get in touch if you are interested. JC
Guest RogerE Posted 5 August 2007 Share Posted 5 August 2007 JC, Be careful with the asbestos ones! Under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006, you cannot even give them away and must be disposed of! Guest yardman9 Posted 6 August 2007 Share Posted 6 August 2007 The roof was finished last night at 8:30pm when the last fixing went in. 84 sheets and over 1000 fixings! The range now looks a million dollars. A fantastic effort by club members. We now have a watertight building that is so much more secure and warmer! Being as careful as possible with the old sheets that came, off most of them sustained some damage, so we are going to have them binned by a specialist, cost will be over £800; unless anyone has a better idea? Therefore, I withdraw them from sale. JC

If you're judging the additional warmth on the time since you finished the roof then you may find other factors came into play Congratulations are due to any club nowadays who can get their members to complete major projects. Just do what everyone else does, tip them in a lay-by ... or down the side of some industrial units on a wekend. This will be the fourth lot we've had to clear this year Fly-tippers, hang the lot of them I say. Edited 6 August 2007 by rszemeti
