Anschutzfan Posted 28 June 2020 Share Posted 28 June 2020 Anyone need a cheap scope stand with pan and tilt fine adjustment. I used this for gallery work (that i don't do any more) from the bench but works fine for prone as well, its not a Tucker or Freeland but its way better than an Opticron stand or the like. Huey Posted 29 June 2020 Share Posted 29 June 2020 We have two of these for club 'scopes. I'd say they were a bit tall for prone as the scope is attached from below so naturally sits high. It doesn't have the reach to bring the eyepiece that far back over the mat either. Might work best with an angled eyepiece 'scope that's held in a ring within which it can rotate which may overcome the issues I mention; we use our with compact straight-eyepiece 'scopes. I concur the P&T adjustments are handy, though ours do suffer from backlash.
Anschutzfan Posted 29 June 2020 Author Share Posted 29 June 2020 I concur you need better scopes on yours, also if yours are very "backlashy" they clearly haven't been taken care of. Just a good basic stand that knocks spots off the Opticron and old Parker type stands. TTFN
