RobStubbs Posted 24 August 2004 Share Posted 24 August 2004 I have just realised that I can set up a 10M range indoors at home. I am therefore looking for something that I can set up in a semi permanent basis. Ideally an electronic or manual target changer would be what I'm after. It needs to be removable at the controller end but the pellet trap, light etc can be left fixed. Any ideas as to where I can get anything from ? I'll even consider the NSRA Thanks, Rob. RobertBeard Posted 24 August 2004 Share Posted 24 August 2004 At Fonthill they set up a system with a pulley wheel at each end with a tight loop of string to connect the two pulley's. The FP end has a handle to turn the pulley to wind the traget out and back again - much cheaper than a specialised electric system although I have heard of an electric train set controller being used to drive a motor to do something similar
Mac Posted 24 August 2004 Share Posted 24 August 2004 Try Paul Cutts at Diverse Trading - the Haering changers are good value.
Pault Posted 24 August 2004 Share Posted 24 August 2004 Yes, Cuttsie at Diverse Trading gives a very good deal on the Haering unitls, he has manual and electronic. The electronic are top notch and you can place your SCATT unit infornt of these and run both SCATT and the electronic target in parallel
RobStubbs Posted 24 August 2004 Author Share Posted 24 August 2004 Cheers all. Robert do you know what the fonthill system is based on ? I can probably borrow a few bits from my club and maybe cobble together a manual winder / changer. I suspect an electic changer would be too awkward to keep setting up & dismantling and you really need to get the tension just right for it to function properly. Also the distance is from my patio door to the downstairs loo and hence would need to be easily removable. I'm at Bisley at the w/e so I will see what they can offer. Rob.
