RobertBeard Posted 12 July 2011 Share Posted 12 July 2011 I think that the User rating is just based on the number of posts that you make whereas Reputation depends on your peers assessing your posts and marking them up or down by using the rating buttons in the bottom right hand corner of each post. So if someone posts some really useful tip then you can mark the post up and I guess that then features in your reputation. neil Posted 12 July 2011 Share Posted 12 July 2011 Greenwing, don't worry .. it takes a lot to offend the masses here User rating's been around longer and was a general "out of 5" rating you could give a member. However, the reputation was introduced that allowed for other users to 'vote' on a members posts. All the members posts 'reputation votes' are then tallyed up and the overall reputation is what you see under your profile.
