RobinC Posted 10 April Posted 10 April (edited) I'm after one of the old style 1970's Tucker scope stands, they are two leg and a post, all one unit, are folding, have a universal knuckle on the top. They have Vee cradle with 5 springs making the scope clamp, and were generally crinkle finish black. Everyone had them 50 years ago, so there must be dozens about! RobinC Posted 28 April Author Posted 28 April Nothing???? Every one had them only 50 years ago, I have one, and want another, don't tell me mine is the only one left!!! Have Fun Robin
RobinC Posted 28 April Author Posted 28 April Thanks, I thought they were Tucker, but regardless, that's what I want! Any one have one in good condition? Have fun Robin
chasing600 Posted 28 April Posted 28 April All of the Tucker stands I have seen were blue. They came in two sizes; the larger ones tended to be a smooth finish and the smaller ones were crinkled. The rods weighed an absolute ton, especially for 3P shooters!
RobinC Posted 29 April Author Posted 29 April I have one, want another for her indoors for TR, they are simple, light and very effective for uneven ground! So come on, some one must have one, sat there unused! Have Fun Robin
RobinC Posted 27 May Author Posted 27 May Now title corrected, its an old Parker Hale stand as per trshooters pic that I'm after, I know they are 50 years old but some one must have one!! Have Fun Robin
Martin C Posted 27 May Posted 27 May Have you looked at the Redfield ones, same style of bi pod base but a different head. In NZ we have someone making a good copy of them. But with a more modern clamp for the scope. Just for interest.
RobinC Posted 29 May Author Posted 29 May Thanks Martin, hope you are well, Its the old simple PH stand I'm after, we both have modern Freeland stands, that we use for small bore with the multiple adjustments and the twiddly thing, and modern scopes, they are great for an indoor range with time, but on rough ground, and little time, they are a hassle to set up, and heavy to lug about. The last time we shot TR, I took my old PH stand (bought new!!) and even my old Kowa TS-2 scope (also bought new!!!), all to save the hassle with our "modern" hi tech kit and the weight, and...... we both used it, and loved it, especially shooting TR on a rough firing point, and its compact, very light, and very simple, and quick to set up (we'd probably still be there now setting the Freeland and modern scope up!!). So as I also have a spare TS1 Kowa scope, I'm now trying to find another one of the old PH stands for the wife, just for our TR outings, so we can both save the hassle, and the hernia, carrying the modern kit about! On the old PH, I think the simple universal joint, simple folding base, and the spring clamp adds up to a great set up, just its all 50 years old, and now seems to be unobtainium! They are all probably in museums! So come on you oldies, some one must have one tucked away some where? Have Fun Robin
