iainfm Posted 22 June 2024 Posted 22 June 2024 Hi, I'm in the process of acquiring a KK500 Expert from a club member who recently passed away. He had quite a strange shooting position, and has replaced at least one of the rods and the threaded rod from the stock Walther butt plate. It may be that these turn up, but I was wondering if anyone had a set, or parts of a set, please. They are items 39 and 40 on the exploded diagram here: https://www.waltheruk.co.uk/user/downloads/KK500_Schaft_Alu_Re_M_2814439_e.pdf The thumb nut 27 is also missing, which I'm also on the hunt for, although I've found a suitable(ish) substitute on Amazon that should suffice. I'm not sure what the 'safety washer' 49 is (prevents the thumb nut from coming off?), but that's MIA as well (presumably with the original thumb nut wherever that is). Does anyone have anything surplus to requirements? Many thanks, Iain
Tray Posted 24 June 2024 Posted 24 June 2024 Hi Iain I have a set of the rods available that have been shortened for when I did 3p. They are 50mm long (original length is 63mm) Any use? Tracey

Tracey Hi, Thanks for offering, I was after either original length or longer if such things exist as I'm quite close to the limit of the ones that are on it at the moment. I may have to get some generic rod material and fabricate something if I need to Best wishes, Iain
RobinC Posted 30 June 2024 Posted 30 June 2024 (edited) Iain Few about as any spare are snapped up by the 3P people! BUT, when I built my KK 500 stocked rifle with a .223 Rem action for 300 mt I made my own rods in the same size material but to handle full bore recoil, and mounted more locked into the butt plate, sadly the originals have already gone to a new home, but it was quite simple and if you are interested in making some I can probably find where I got the materials from, silver steel rods, and stainless threaded rod (may have some, but don't think so?), if you make them then they can be any length you wanted, I also made an adjuster wheel. I'm now recovering from an illness so I can't make some for you, but it was quite simple, and have pics and can tell you how and where to get the materials from. emails me on robin.carter80@ntlworld.com Have Fun Robin Edited 30 June 2024 by RobinC iainfm 1
iainfm Posted 30 June 2024 Author Posted 30 June 2024 Thanks, Robin. Funnily enough I ordered some rods off Amazon last night with a view to making up some of my own. As you say, it seems fairly easy - a flat on one side of each rod, and a tapped hole thought it. I've also bought some M10 thumb nuts; I just need to turn them down so they fit between the rods. It would be a 2 minute job if I had a lathe, but I'll improvise with an elecrtic drill and an angle grinder! Hope you're on the mend!
RobinC Posted 1 July 2024 Posted 1 July 2024 (edited) Thanks Iain Yes, well on the mend thanks, I made things for very many years with hand tools, and a Wolf Sapphire that I had for my 21st birthday, ahem... just a few years ago now, its deeply satisfying. I do the same things now with a lathe and a mill, just easier and quicker! If you have any problems let me know, I'm now allowed back in my workshop! iainfm Posted 3 July 2024 Author Posted 3 July 2024 The original rods and nut have been found, so I'm sorted thanks! I'll give them a go and if I feel I could do with longer ones I'll try making a set with the things I've bought.
