  1. Possibly the reason for that is it's the only way people learn about them. Their main use has always been for scoring own start competitions but these seem to have lost favour over the years, there are certainly fewer of them than I remember. Given that the NSRA only specify their use in one particular set of circumstances and the potential market is very small it is probably uneconomic to source and stock them. It is also worth reading the Introduction to the Graduated Gauges section of the NSRA Rules Appendix 2: Rutty
  2. Graduated gauges are hard to come by for the following reason: The NSRA no longer specify their use other than in the circumstances above. My personal view is that re-gauging a qualifying round is inappropriate and it would be fairer to allow equal scores to proceed to the next stage. Rutty
  3. @Tds has insufficient posts on the forum to send PMs. However if you PM them, they will be able to reply to you. Rutty
  4. The 80 degree angle is only specified for Air Rifle and Pistol, no mention of a similar specification for smallbore rifle.
  5. I would try the competitions department and explain your problem. You could then remind them of: Then offer to manufacture your own if they can't come up with a solution. Electronic "gauging" is nothing new, the 156 DISAG RM IV target scoring machine or its predecessors have been around for 40 years. A few years ago, I saw a method that employed a flat bed scanner to produce an image that could be emailed and then scored by software. I seem to recall that the issue was achieving a satisfactory standard and quality of image rather than the scoring process. However in these days of EST, is it worth the effort? Rutty
  6. @iainfm You “should” be able to get a 25 yard gauge from the NSRA, it is a very basic item and I would have thought they would be able to supply one. As for graduated gauges they have all but disappeared from use. IIRC there is only one occasion mentioned in the NSRA Rules where they are used*. Some local and county leagues still mention them in their regulations but as far as I’m aware, graduated gauge sets haven’t been produced for years. Anyone who has a set is likely to be holding onto them. Rutty I believe this rule dates from 2002 which explains the scarcity of graduated gauges today.
  7. There was a Sius HS10 for sale. Worth asking to see if it’s still available? Rutty
  8. ttt. - Today’s Top Tip If something doesn’t sell reasonably quickly it’s usually because the price isn’t correct. HTH rutty
  9. Not that one, but similar visual gauges have been available for about 50 years at least. They work but in the end it’s the plug gauge that counts. Seems a lot to spend on something that just helps estimate a few close shots. Rutty
  10. They don’t come up very often, but there was a recent post on the AirgunBBS about a K22 Rutty

  12. Mark, As has already been pointed out to you: There are sound reasons for that policy not least of which is to protect the seller's interests. You could start by looking on Guntrader and Egun and should be able to get some idea from there. There are also other UK shooting forae that have Sales and Wants sections. You will find a wide variation of prices from the suspicious to the fanciful, but it's up to you to set an asking price. Rutty
  13. Rifle Now Sold On behalf of a fellow club member. Anschutz 1913 Supermatch right handed, as illustrated in the photos below. The rifle is approximately 30 years old, has cosmetic marks to the woodwork and comes with the fittings and accessories shown. Located in Leicestershire, open to offers with a guide price of £500.00 for the rifle + carriage and transfer costs if applicable. Prospective purchasers should contact me by Private Message along with their contact details and any questions. I shall pass their enquiry to the seller who will respond directly.
  14. The trite and unhelpful answer would be, whatever anyone is willing to pay. The more honest response is that I haven’t a clue. It seems a difficult time to sell this kind of item. Having had a couple of conversations lately with people interested in vintage and historic arms both told me that they just couldn’t find buyers for rifles and accessories that a few years ago would have sold easily. It does appear that the market has declined in a similar way to that of lot of the small antiques and collectibles. A good example is Goss Crested China, the link gives a good account of what has happened. Looking for similar items on Ebay usually turns up a wide range of prices, take a look at these for The Bell Medal; 56,000 of them struck! A collector is unlikely to pay more than £5.00 inc postage, maybe £10.00 if there’s something special about it. That doesn’t stop the speculative asking prices. Coming back to your sight sets, they’re not really in demand and they do appear quite frequently. Try a set at £50.00 and if they don’t sell try a couple of months later at £25.00. If they go put the next set on at £35.00. You could however ask £40.00 for the pair, I would have thought they might go for that. It’s a bit of guessing game, hope this gives some food for thought. Rutty
  15. If it doesn’t sell on this board, have you thought about trying www.airgunbbs.com ?
  16. Sportsman Gun Centre are showing them as available with delivery by the end of the month. Rutty
  17. That’s fine Guy, just let me know. Rutty
  18. Hello Guy, I know Gasman well; we are in the same club; he doesn't frequent the board much if at all. I do know that he sold his SCATT, however it just so happens that I have a similar one available. It's SCATT USB in its original box and is complete with original CD and cables etc. I've just plugged it in and it worked first time. I used to run it on an old laptop under XP so it might benefit from a software and\or firmware update. Both downloadable from the SCATT website. It can be yours for £350 + carriage. Rutty
  19. Hmm…. Let me Google that for you😁 HTH Rutty
  20. It is customary to include the price and method of payment. Rutty
  21. Victoria, I must point out that on this forum it is customary to include a price for the item you are selling. Rutty
  22. Just in case anyone is interested, I have available a selection of copies of The Rifleman. They are not complete runs just a few copies that are duplicates of my collection. They are in two lots 1949-1967 and a smaller lot 1950-1967. Free to good home postage only or collect from Melton Mowbray. Rutty
  23. Thanks for sharing this Morty. Anyone who doesn’t already know should note carefully “PayPal friends and family”. It’s what it says it is and there is absolutely no reason to use it for an above board transaction. Yes there is a transaction charge if you use a payment option but it also provides some protection, although not necessarily a lot. If there is anything the slightest odd or unusual about the payment method the walk away unless you can authenticate the seller by some means. Rutty
  24. Hello Racingt, we are currently reviewing our club firearms holding and it is possible that we might have something of interest to you available. As soon as the review is complete, if there is anything that might suit, I’ll contact you with details and photos.. Rutty
  25. What you need is one of these: Correx 500g Force Gauge Rutty
