  1. Oh yes, I forgot my details- 999, Letsbe Avenue, Ewer Nicht, Dun jen. I will be out the evening of the 30th February and 31 June with Mrs Jonty. (I know how to spoil a lass) Jonts
  2. BUMP. Alas, I still have not found one. I would also welcome a 1907. If you have one, or know of one, please send me a P.M. I have a space on my F.A.C and some money tucked under the bedroom carpet. Thank You Jonty
  3. Check out ebay. There's someone in Romania who's always got trigger guards on. (He's probably living in London now). Jonty
  4. Huey, I'm pleased youve kept up your commitment on this issue, But- Whats going on. Is it something the wider community should be aware of? Has someone had a gun nicked or what? Is there something we should be looking out for? Veiled statements lead to an air of unhealthy imagination. You really need to be putting more flesh on the bones. Jonty

    Twiddly Thing

Theres a guy who makes them for Tucker and Freeland stands and sells them on ebay. I think they are £20 or £25 which is the same price as one of the gun dealers sells them for, so I think they ought to be a bit cheaper really. But they are a very useful bit of kit, well worth getting one. Jonty
  6. There have been many entries on here about replacement bolts/screws and peoples guidance. My extra input is that you replace the action 'screws' with the slotted heads with bolts with 'Allen keyed' heads. The bolts are Metric Fine thread, so are very hard to get off the shelf. One way would be to have your local engineer rethread a standard M6 (if I remember the size correctly) bolt which is only threaded part way down the bolt, with M6 Fine thread, to the same length as your existing bolts/screws. I think one of the heads also needs reducing in diameter to enable it enter the stock. You can then use a Torque wrench on the bolts for accurate, consistent fastening. The bolts you buy are usually hardened tensile steel and will need 'tempering' to allow a thread to be cut onto them. I managed to buy a thread die, but it cut a poor thread on the early versions due to the hardness of the steel and soon wore out the die. I then tempered, cut the thread with a new die then re-hardened the bolts. (I must have been mad). Sounds complicated, yes it is a bit. Most of the bolts on the buttplate are standard with the exception of the bolt that fastens the hook to the plate. Again its metric fine. (Lets not go there again) I think you would struggle to get one of these off the shelf and are very hard to source (But Anschutz should have them). Jonty
  7. Thanks Nick, I have his details. I thought we would try the 'used' route first. J
  8. I am posting on behalf of a colleague who is looking for a Barry Nessom 22mm diameter turnover foresight that will fit the vee blocks on an 18 series barrel with the vee blocks. If you have one or know someone who has, please send me a P.M and I will let my friend know. Thanks Jonty
  9. Hi, I sent you a P.M some time ago which you appear to have not read. Look at the top line of your scree and you should see a number in a red box at the side of a little envelope. Click on this and it will take you to my message. Regards Jonty
  10. You certainly amassed some quality gear in the short period you shot. I hope your injury improves, and who knows, you may again be able to shoot at some time. Always sad to see a shooter packing in. Good luck with your sale. Jonty
  11. Let me get this right, Its OK for you to slag off someones's item they are wanting to sell, but you can't have anything said about your comments, yeah right. Squishy may be a good/great shot, and feels he doesnt need it. Did he like it though? Jonty
  12. Chunter, I think you missed off the bit, 'In my opinion'. Many shooters use the MEC/Centra Duplex with great effect and have found it a great aid to improving scores. If I did'nt have poor eyesight and use lenses, I would certainly use one. To just state, 'you dont need one' is purely your opinion and certainly unhelpful to the person selling the item. Jonty

    Gemini Butt Plate

Yes, Tim is correct. Removing the black vertical bar will mean loss of fine vertical adjustment. You may still get vertical adjustment by moving up on the bolt holes, but this would not be a preferred outcome. It would probably move in 20mm increments, Yuck! To buy a carrier would be very expensive , I would suggest. Has'nt philW got the original part that is missing? J

    Gemini Butt Plate

If you removed the black vertical bar from the buttplate, you should be able to bolt the buttplate to an Anschutz carrier! Having said that I have not had the opportunity to check the hole centres on the relevant parts. If they do not align, then that would be a big problem. Jonty
  15. C'mon Tim g, put us out of our misery, what have you invested into. Jonty
  16. Cheers for the pointers Tim. I'll happily extend the search to include xx11 rifles too. If only I could find a way to edit the thread's topic line! T To change your header, In your ad, click on 'edit' then 'full editor' and then you can change the header. As for the ammo, Edge is about £112 per 1,000 (With a bit of discount for 1k) so thats £56 per 500, then £5.60 for a box of 50. Sounds good to me for a nights shooting. Ensure on your Firearm cert application you have authority to possess max 1500 and to purchase max 1,000. At the least. I know FEO try to get you to have less, but as an avid shooter who is attending many shoots, that is a reasonable amount to have. You shouldnt have to spend all your time travelling to buy ammo from your nearest gun dealer who has the type of ammo you require, especially if the dealer is some distance away and difficult to get to. I hope my comments may help. Jonty
  17. I am intrigued about your reference for better ammo! What do you use now and what would you like to use. What disciplines do you intend to use it for and at what distances. There have been discussions on here of late about Eley Edge. Now that won't break the bank. It may be that you may buy expensive ammo that will not give you any advantage. Do I take it you are quite tall Tim, hence the decision to try to get a more adjustable stock. Jonty
  18. Yeah, Ive looked, theres nothing there that takes my eye. Jonty
  19. I am looking to buy an Anschutz 1913 barrel and action or will consider a full rifle. If you have one, or know someone who has one they may sell, please send me a P.M. Thank You Jonty
  20. I think you did the perfectly correct thing in asking on the Forum about your rifle. Its one of the reasons its here. You even found at that the stock and to some extent the barrel and action are of later models than you thought they were. Great. Jonty
  21. I agree with Tim, the seller said he thought the stock was an 18 series, but after discussion it was identified as the more modern and more saleable 19 series. As Huey says, there's something going on here we are not being told about! As they saying goes, 'Either put up or shut up'. Jonty

    Cheek Piece

I have a template for one drawn on paper. If your, or someone elses skills permit, I would try and make one from a piece of plastic which could be heated and bent/formed so it would look like the ones fitted to the G&E XRS stock. The ones fitted to the 2013 are plywood or laminate which are formed and machined. very difficult to copy, and very expensive to buy. They have a tendency to crack across where it is angled. A bit like the stock! Take care. Jonty
  23. Thanks for that Ark. I wont pursue one any further in that case. Tim, I acknowledge your greater knowledge, and accept that it swept up not back. I couldnt be sure, as I couldnt see it on the other side of the rifle when I shot it! Jonts
  24. olnmfc, It was the trigger unit Tim referred to, the part that is bolted to the action with the two small bolts, not the trigger guard. Tim, By swept back, I meant curved. I had a 2602 and a 2700 and they were both curved. Jonty
  25. B*gger, I remember now why I stopped gambling. Well done Tim (again). I didnt realise what Ark Fitz mentioned, that you can/could get the swept back handles to replace the ones on the 14 series. Has anyone got one for sale? Having said that, have things come full circle, as the Bleiker and i think the new FWB have straight handles. Jonty
