Hi, Are you sure its 22mm? The box for the iris shows it to be M18 and the tunnel looks to be an 18mm. Jonty

I have for sale One Gemini Ultra rifle stock. It is machined to take Anschutz round action. These were an early version for Gemini and have, I believe maple woodwork and an alloy chassis. The bedding bolts are present. The buttplate carrier extends and locks in place using spacers, These are not present, but easily available on eBay in a colour of your choice. The cheekpiece adjusts vertically and laterally. The condition is very good with only minor marks from limited use. These are very rare, especially in this condition. Look at the phots carefully. Phil, Doesnt the sling loop detach from the handstop by depressing the button under the loop? I thought these were a standard type of loop which can be removed! Jonty

Personally, I think the flexible adjuster is one of the most useful items you could use in target shooting, obviously on stands that will accept them. UNC sounds right, UNF (Unified national Fine (Thread)) the C is for Coarse. With Fine you would be winding it forever.

I prefer the moniker 'flexible adjuster'. When I get down into position, it is easy to fine adjust the scope into the position you require. With a right hand shooter, with the scope and stand on the left and the left hand set in the sling, it was always difficult to try to reach the old round headed adjuster, the flexible adjuster eliminates this problem. Im surprised someone isnt turning them out by the bucket load. Just a word to the wise. Ive noticed that some of the original adjusting knobs, mainly on Tuckers stands, can have different threads. This could of course be due to someone re-tapping the hole to fit a different knob, if they have lost the original and decided to replace it with an easier to obtain thread. I think, from memory, that in Andrew Tucker stands, the thread was 'UNF'. This can easily be checked by taking the diameter of the threaded knob, and checking it against details of threads that can easily be found on a Google search. These details will give you 'Threads per inch' so using a rule, count the threads. This should correspond with the old known threads, BSF, BSW, UNF and UNC. Metric threads were not used in days of yore. As for the Freeland scope, being American, they are more than likely to be one of the first above four threads. Jonty

Now I have your interest, I have a Match 54 barrelled action which is Free to a good home. It has not been used for many a year but prepared and kept in storage. At some time in its life, it appears it was stored in a wood stock and the moisture in the wood has affected and removed the blueing from underneath the action. The bore condition appears good. Although it will have fired many rounds in its lifetime, it still shoots very accurately and Im sure someone can make good use of it. Face to face transaction in Wakefield, West Yorkshire or RFD to RFD at your cost. If you have any questions, please ask. You must have a space of course on your FAC for a .22 rifle. I would agree that the fine thread is to give more engagement for the bolt with the thread depth being shallow. However, Some, if not all, 4760 Armadillo hook buttplates, have fine thread on the bolt which goes through the hooks elbow and screws into the actual buttplate. I would imagine the bolt is 6 or more mm diameter, and screws in a fair way, so why did Anschutz use a MFine thread? Treat these bolts like gold as they are very hard to find, if at all. jonty

Welcome to the forum knocky1. Yes it will fit your Match 54. It bolts to the black carrier your existing buttplate is fixed to. Hope fully you will be able to use the existing bolts and fasteners. Remove the buttplate that goes up and down to see if you can see the fasteners, if not, remove the whole existing buttplate from the stock to access the fasteners. You will probably need a 4mm Allen key. Jonty

Hello Ramos. Im sure you know the rules, you need to add a price for the scope.

What is wrong with your existing bolt, or, is it you dont have one or you want a spare. I would imagine a new bolt would be quite prohibitive on price, plus with it being a 'component part' you will need it to go on your FAC, so would need a 'space' for it. Jonty

To clarify, the receiver on my MEC stock is for a flat bottomed action. The receiver is very narrow. An Anschutz square to round adapter is too wide to fit in and the hole spaceings are totally different. As stated, I will get some dimensions and a picture in the New Year. Jonty

Ouch, I remember now, I think it was you Robin who a few months back mentioned that Walther action bolts were in a central line and NOT four of them in a rectangle. Silly me. So my adapter on the Match 54 is not Walther Square to Annie Round. Frankly, I have no idea what my MEC stock was originally made for, but as I previously said, the adapter looks factory made, it is much narrower than an Anschutz adapter, id more of a flat plate about 20mm thick with a vee cut down the centre to stabilise the round action. I will append some pictures in the New Year when I go back to civilisation. Merry Christmas.

I have a MEC 1 stock with a Match 54 action. The action has an adapter plate but the bottom holes in the adapter are very very different to anything Ive seen. The receiver of the stock has had an extra slot machined in for the Anschutz bolt handle. This slot is about 30mm rearward of the original slot. I asked MEC about it twice and both times got no where. The stock receiver is too narrow for standard Anschutz adapter, so it seems it may have been originally for Walther, but just guessing. The adapter does seem to be a factory made part, could it be Walther to Annie, I dont know. I cant give dimensions, as I am 100 miles from where the rifle is stored. The holes in the adapter are not for Bleiker. I will take dimensions and photo when I next travel there. Can Robin assist with hole dimension for a Walther square action? Jonty
