davethechamp reacted to trshooter in System Gemini FR703 Stock for Grunig R3
In theory, yes, the hole space matches up, but in reality, no, because R3s are shorter "at the front" than 2013s and 1913s with square adapters. This video should help https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clLBIza_WJs. The Gemini looks like it doesn't have enough space in front of the front screw holes to fit an Anschutz.

That should be a Gdrive link for the all important pictures.
Selling my System Gemini FR703 chasis Stock that is custom made to take a Grunig & Elmiger Racer R3 action. This stock was made and custom fitted by Rob at his shop.
The stock predominatly red with some green accents and a gold trigger guard.
It has a size "100" grip fitted, Cheek piece and the fittings to slot a butt plate assembely straight in.
This could be ideal to anyone with a Gemini Stock who is concidering getting a Grunig R3 and wants a fairly easy and quick transition without switching to a different stock
I will have this stock with me at Bisley for the National meeting this year. I arrive on Sunday 6th August, for Junior International, and styaing through till Sunday 20th
If your interested please drop me a shout

davethechamp reacted to Hemmers in .22 Rifle Ammo Haul
And it doesn't need to be a top-tier brand.
I mean, if that money is burning a hole in your pocket or you're sponsored, then by all means get Tenex/R50/Midas+, but if you find a batch of Eley Match/RWS Rifle Match/Center-X that your rifle likes, that will serve far better and offer more consistency than shooting lots of odd-batch R50 and Tenex (and you'll have more budget left for kit/travel/comps/associated training expenses).
The label is only based on their proofing barrels, which gives an indication to consistency but it's performance in your barrel that counts - to that end, I'm not convinced you're getting a lot of value buying off-the-shelf odds of Tenex compared with off-the-shelf Match. It might be great, it might also fail to hold the 10 ring, and you're paying a 30% premium to find out! Last time I batch tested I found a good batch I was happy with. But one batch tested at 21mm after 10 shots. Off the shelf you don't know if it's any good till you start shooting it. I've shot 590+ in training and had double-tons with Rifle Match. Not as often as I'd like perhaps, but in training you're rarely shooting for score and tier-2 ammo is usually "good enough" to tell you if you're achieving your training goals.

davethechamp reacted to Squishy in Anschutz 1607
Whilst I can't vouch for the accuracy as I haven't seen it batch tested, I've seen the rifle and it looks in good nick. Ash isn't a bad chap either, which is surprising for someone who is associated with me.

Wooden stock and a saw is cheaper. You probably have both already.

davethechamp reacted to PeteJ in Issf Wind Flag Ribbon
Thanks Kirks. We've gone for a custom job...
For anyone interested, the parts list is:
Flag ribbon as above (50mm x 400mm / 150 g/m2 ISSF spec) c.50p each (25m roll)
10mm aluminium poles (B&Q) c.£3.50 each
Stainless steel 1 mm welding tig rod (free...)
Multipurpose plastic rawl plugs from B&Q (£6 for 50)
Small beads from Hobbycraft (£3.50 for loads)
We're mounting them like golf flags so we can mow over the capped holes and find them and not worry about clearing out the holes every time. We can't have any concrete down range, so the plastic pin cups are ideal:
PVC golf pin cups (ebay - £2.50 each)
Golf flag plastic ferrules (c.£2.50 each)
Pics to follow
