  1. Sarah, Anschutz changed their foresight mounting when the 1913 (and 1907) came out in 1987. Older Anschutz rifles have a much deeper dovetail on the barrel; a 1913 foresight can fit this deovetail, but will sit much higher than the correct foresight (a slim raiser block may then be needed under the rearsight). Older Anschutz foresights won't fit 1913/1907 barrels without modification.
  2. Then this thread might be informative: http://forum.stirton.com/index.php/topic/4721-how-to-judge-a-sh-fullbore-rifle/?hl=musgrave&do=findComment&comment=41692
  3. Jonty, for GBU19, that would be an NRA TR so a Quadlock, Barnard action (or similar) with a 30in barrel in .308Win/7.62MM.
  4. The 1903 has been made as left hand, but I'm not sure about the 1803. I'm sure the 1403 was RH only, perhaps with LH stock and RH bolt.
  5. I hadn't thought of that. I'll also ask an engineer friend if he could make a new lever. 300 Euros is rather cheaper than the £290 I was quoted by a UK dealer, even allowing for post from Germany.
  6. I knew that I should have said that the trigger on your own rifle didn't count. Still looking.
  7. Is it for sale? How much are you asking? I accidentally cracked the trigger lever while removing the stock. I had the trigger set to single stage, so the first stage screw was would out. My best guess is that the stock caught the screw at just the right point to crack the lever at the sear engagement screw.
  8. If you have a trigger I'll tell.
  9. As above, want to buy an Anschutz 5018 trigger. Have had a terminal mishap with mine.

    Scope Stand

I think there is a Paramount stand on eBay at the mo.

    1813 Cheek Piece

I have looked in the bag, and have drawn a blank. I did have half a paper template for cover for an 1813 cheekpiece, but no cheekpiece. I think it may have been left in Exeter.

    1813 Cheek Piece

I’ll have a look in my bag of crap treasured items not currently in use.

    1813 Cheek Piece

Fold up Cheekpiece? There is only one 1813 cheekpiece as far as I'm aware? Do you mean the later 1913/2013 ratchet cheekpiece? If it is 1813 you want, I may have one in the spare bits bag.
  14. If your girlfriend can tolerate the extra pound or so that a 1907 weighs over a 1903, your search will be easier. The 1907 is an adult rifle, and is more common second hand that the 1903, which is seen as a junior rifle. The 1907 is built on the superior Match 54 action, and has a much better trigger than the 1903, 1803, or 1403. It can also be upgraded very easily if required in the future. As well as the 1907, look for its 1980s predecessor the 1807. As with BSA rifles, a 1907 or 1807 rifle may be a little too long in the butt for shorter girls.
  15. Not to dampen your spirit, but the older (and therefore cheaper) Match 64 rifles, were not made in LH form, only with LH stocks and the standard RH bolt. Anschutz didn't start until 1980-odd, which limits you to the 1803 and 1903. You may want to consider a Martini action; BSA made their International series in true LH form throughout production, and with lightweight barrels. The Martini action is nice and short for easy loading. A BSA Mk IV ISU, or Mk II lightweight, would do well, although be prepared to shorten the butt, these are too long for many men.
  16. I think it might be too large anyway.
  17. Emma, is the size UK (40 inch chest) or Continental (size 40)?

    Butt Plate

Quite true Jonty, but the angle of the armadillo hook itself can be raised or lowered, whereas the "old" hook cannot; I found that the angle of the "old" hook was too steep, and prevented the butt from seating properly in my shoulder, always leaving a large gap at the bottom. This problem was compounded by the limited vertical adjustment od the plate.

    Butt Plate

I think you want the "armadillo" hook from the later 4760 plate; Anschutz sold this combination (older plate + newer hook) as the 4922. The hooks from newer Anschutz plates will not fit yours. If you haven't already, look on ebay, these do come up for sale.

    Butt Plate

Tony, do you want jsut the hook, or the whole plate? And which butt do you have, the 1813 came with two during it's life? The first one has a large thumbscrew to lock the butt for vertical adjsutment, the other (model 4760) has five alln bolts along the plate.
  21. Gary, it's just a thin plastic sheet, much thinner than the material found in the old Anschutz alu stocks' I think it's there to take up any tiny variations in receiver dimensions. Early Ultra stocks had two strips of tape at the bedding bolts.
  22. My Nesom 22mm was bought with a 12in tube and is stamped 4, so I'd say that Chris' tunnel was also made for a 12in tube.

    Forum App

Whatever format my very cheap phone uses is by far the best. Most other forums are challenging to navigate by phone, but Stirton is quite simple.
