  1. Ai! We want to know what you decided now! :-D
  2. Hi Warwick34, I reckon that you can use a Prone rifle for benchrest but it will be difficult to use a benchrest rifle for prone. Therefore I suggest you practice some prone and find out from experience what style of stock will suit you best before you decide what to buy. I expect that any Match 54 will be accurate enough if it is in good condition, but the model of the stock and the fittings like the butt-plate and cheek-piece will make a big difference to whether it fits you and suits you. Also consider the trigger weight that you like and whether the rifle's trigger can be adjusted satisfactorily to it. You may prefer a single stage or two stage trigger. Some trigger models can be adjusted to either, especially the latest ones. Be aware that the Anschutz "Modern Trigger" is not the latest one! It is an older model. Alternatively, of course, you could buy a cheap M54 for benchrest and purchase another if you do decide to also take up prone shooting. You would not then have to change lots of adjustments when changing from benchrest to prone, which might be on the same day at the same match. I have a Match 54 I might sell, it is quite accurate and I have the original wooden stock for it. Only the position of the buttplate can be adjusted. I also have a Keppeler alloy stock which fits it and has many more adjustment possibilities. Of course, the alloy stock costs much more than the rifle! It would also be possible to use the wooden stock for benchrest and the alloy one for prone, as it is a two bolt quick-change. Regards, Richard
  3. Sorry, I should have said thank you Roger! Something about this site's layout confuses me!
  4. Received, perfect item, many thanks Ian. :-)
  5. MEC Handstop wanted, the cotton reel type, reasonable price.
  6. Hi there, Is your Tenminator still for sale please? And does it include the little clamp that fits on the barrel wedge to locate it? Regards, R
  7. I see so many people say this that I am publishing a reply! Simply click "Create a New Topic" or "Reply to this Topic" and a box appears for you to type in. Below the box on the left it says "Drag files here to attach, or choose files (which is a link to the folders). Then drag the files into the message box area or use the folders to navigate to your picture files as you prefer. Note it says "Max total size 1MB". If you have five pictures, they must average no more than 200KB each. You can use IrfanView (free) to open large image files and save them as a small jpeg for the web, or post the pics in separate "replies". Hope this helps, RJP
  8. As you can see in the photo, it has a small dent in the front at the top but is in good working order. The insert is the standard 3.8mm one. I am thinking £20 posted, if you are interested.
  9. Hi Dog Box, Did you find a foresight? I have a spare Anschutz one...
  10. I am looking for a second-hand alloy stock like the Anschutz Precise or Gemini FR703 - has anyone changed their stock and you still have the old one? I have found one now, thank you for looking.
  11. Nice idea. Would it be possible to extend the bolt-protector to cover and protect the back end and the ejectors too? It looks as though you have a lid that will cover the ejector end... And will it fit my 1978 Match54 serial 164xxx ? R
  12. Thanks for the pics Robin, very nice work. :-)
  13. Hi James, I think you're right, I like the Supermatch stock. I find the 1913 or 2013 type cheekpiece ok, it has height and a little sideways movement with a fairly square edge. I can't seem to find the right position with the older models with height only and the cheekpiece with the more rounded shape. The alloy stocks do seem to command a high price, perhaps because most of the best shooters with very good rifles use them. I was in Australia in February and missed a 1913 in alu that was advertised for £1250... :-/
  14. Thanks Neil, looks nice but I'll probably look for something cheaper if it has a wooden stock, or stretch the budget a bit if it has a metal one. Regards, Richard
  15. Thanks Davie, sounds very nice but over my budget unfortunately. I'm a newbie looking in the £600 to £1000 area, I should probably have said. Good luck selling it and feel free to "hijack" the thread a little with a photo if you wish. Regards, Richard
