I just want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas.
-
-
I used to have one, and an A3000 and best of all the Acorn Risc PC - some machine
I've got hundreds of 'Archive' and 'RISC' magazines which will help you to
program etc on the Acorn
Hope it goes to a good home.
-
Apologies folks, but the datacentre had to perform an emergency swap
out of vital routing components, hence the downtime.
Thanks

This is something I have thought about and will look into.
-
Obviously you are and it is a proper stand, just highlighting Ken's suggestion of
a cheaper version for those who can't afford the real deal
-
Well get the proper thing then if they *want* to pay
-
Or heed Ken's advice and go for the cheap lights
-
Terry, out of the two legs, it's the one that sits on top of the other where the nut is.
Makes sense doesn't it
-
LOL, now you are asking Terry.
I'm away up to the club to do some training so I will have a look and let you know
later on - thanks.

Currently I have the 'baby' Tucker scope stand but the leg is away to break
off. It's been 'bonded' but it is only going to last so long, plus there is not
really enough ground clearance when shooting on uneven firing points.
I'm after either the bigger version of the Tucker stand or similar.
Let me know if you have one or know someone who has - I'd
appreciate it.
Many thanks

I've now reverted the forum back to the usual
http://forum.stirton.com as I believe everyone should
now be looking at the new server...
-
Thanks
-
Less 'hops' to the datacentre (about half) from most UK ISPs
combined with the faster server makes all the difference
-
The server move went ahead smoothly in no time but the update to the
global DNS records will take 24 hours.
At the moment if you go to http://forum.stirton.com you will be taken to
the direct IP address - this is to try and prevent you posting on the old
server and then losing posts when the DNS (global domain name server)
records update.
When I'm convinced the records are updated it will appear as
http://forum.stirton.com again
I also hope you notice the speed increase
Faster server overall and less time to connect to it (almost half the time for me)
than the old server. :D

Hello everyone,
We (Ikiji) are moving to a new datacentre with
improved response times and 24 hour technicians. The server move is planned
for later on today and will hopefully be seemless
Please keep a copy of any posts you make in Notepad/Wordpad just incase
you need to post them again if the new posts are not reflected on the new
server.
Many thanks

Last nights downtime was caused by some nasty people performing
what is known as a DoS (Denial of Service) attack against the data
centre where the servers are. This is basically an orchestrated attack
where lots of computers are used to send massive amounts of
"rubish' data towards the datacentre, thus remdering the centre
pretty much useless and unable to serve our web pages
Even worse is, it is very difficult to do anything to stop this from
happening.
Anyway, it's back in operation now and I can only apologise for
the disruption.
Regards,
Neil

Don't worry Peter, if I do decide to keep them then it would likely
be the Asus that I go for. I was hoping that they might come out
with an improved bus speed, AGP, etc, version soon
-
Which m/b did you use then because I always swear by Asus but there is only one to choose
from for dual proc. Athlons?
-
As above, I have two M(ulti) P(rocessor) Athlons for sale if anyone is interested?
Here they are on EBuyer:
http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/prod...oduct_uid=43355
@ £239.39 for 2 of them delivered.
I have 2 of them, still in their boxes and thought I would give fellow forum users the first chance to snap these up. Looking for offers around £180.
(Or I might just have to use them myself and have a stupidly fast machine)
If you are interested, then give me a shout.
Thanks
Neil

I see that thanks to the increasing number of members and links to the site,
it is now ranked at/near the top of Google for "target shooting forum" and
"shooting forum" - thanks people

Apologies but the datacentre was having problems and it's taken most of the day for them
to sort it. Hopefully all is now resolved.
Happy New Year
