  1. Glad it worked out well. That Swing P14 adaptor was still for sale last week. The advantage being that sight takes the std Anschutz Ghemenn irises & so lets more light in .
  2. thing wot goes on the bottom to locate yer hand stop on.................... full length ~20cm if poss pls........................

  4. Just when you think rocking horse poo is rare some unicorn poo turns up! this will fit a P14 & work very well indeed a Swing rear sight with a P14 adaptor plate!!!! rarer than a 3/53Z. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161909688969?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  5. Exactly as my photos demonstrate - you can see where that pin fits by looking at my first photo - there is a round recess in the original left battle sight ear (I'm not sure it's a 'repair' as such Phil). IIRC my sight is also 1/2 MOA. Better at the longer ranges than shorter, and does surprisingly well with HPS TM 155gr. This pic is my Wilkes P14 rearsight showing the round lug that locks into the action under the bolt spring its pristine, the ebay pic shows a rough working repaired locating lug. The P14 barrel is the same square thread as the Swing Mk 1-2 so a part used stainless Swing barrel will fit .....& work a whole let better than the original :-) The 3/53 has a fork at this point & the lug is a separate small easily lost bit.
  6. Svenson & Willkes = Swing. The sight you are talking about is a Swing rearsight. Trouble is the P14 conversion mount plate for that is as rare as unicorn poo. Watch ebay a PH5B with 1/4 moa windage or a PH 3/53Z. Good thing about Swing rearsight is it has windage knobs both sides so a coach can easily use the sight too.
  7. The sight you have been offered will only fit Mauser or poss Musgrave & poss Swing too if the mount is modified. To fit a sight on a P14 its mounted with an integral tang & plug that goes under the bolt retaining leaf spring or a fork & a plug with a lug on it to go under the spring. Its then held secure by the axis pin thru the sight 'ears'. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Parker-Hale-PH5B-P14-Enfield-Aperture-sight-Pattern-1914-/321934657017?hash=item4af4cd05f9:g:sR0AAOSwcBhWUll1 you can see that as the brass bit bottom of pic 2 (but that sight has been repaired to braze a pin on) The only way to fit the sight you haev been offered to your P14 is to drill holes thru the left ear & bolt it directly on. but you may then not have equal windage left & right as it may not be mechanically central (will be close). The M80 might be 'better' than other sights but if the sight is 1/4 moa windage & works with no backlash then other P14 sights will work as well on a P14. They all have the drawback of the small Redfield PH thread eyepiece so less light. This might work but again you need to drill the ears to fit it. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/One-Parker-Hale-model-TZ-M68-rear-sight-and-mount/161901502275?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140122125356%26meid%3De1a3b264f5694b35ab7b5f8cadcd10cc%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D252190841706 I have a good working std PH5B but its 1/2 moa windage, but tbh thats good enough for a P14. £80 inc post. also beware the twin zero is probably erroneous many were calculated for cordite 303 (thats faster than current PPU 174grain 303) & not 7.62nato ball & certainly not 308win so they will never align. You need to properly zero the rifle & slip the plates so 300yds = 3moa & write down the settings per distance. 500 =7, 600=13 etc good luck.
  8. yea sold already :-( but thanks for the tip off..........:-)

  20. If you buying from an EEC country there is no VAT or Excise to pay its paid in that country & is not chargeable again here. Info on importing & NB this ONLY applies to the licenceable parts (barrel, chamber, bolt, action & not furniture, sights, cases, magazines etc) The cost of many Anschutz parts in EEC is the same as in GB but in Euros so at todays exchange rate you save about 25% https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/386164/Notice-to-importers-2864-import-licensing-arrangements-firearms-and-ammunition-2015.pdf

  24. And yet there are quite a lot of them still out there after all these years... such as mine which is now over a decade old. If one's shooting technique *requires* a Mithril Stock Of +2 To Physical Resistance, then I'd suggest that time spent in the coaching forum would be of benefit... Now, if we were to say something like "the 2213 stocks aren't as well made as the Precise, and will break if you mistreat them. Factor this into the price that you're thinking of paying for one" then we'd be in agreement. Ha, good try, one clipped the door of the range on the way out & just snapped off, the other was in a hard case that fell over in the armoury from -10 to+30 degrees. both snapped in same place - just before the cheek piece carrier. Another the integral rail snapped out during a shoot so the hand stop & sling loop came off. But for what Anschutz charged for them & the heralds of German quality that came with the marketing bumph = Phah BS, buy Gemini or HPS. Arent as well made is an understatement - one is die cast (from melted down tin cans & die case dinky cars), the other CNC machined from a 7000 series equivalent grade aircraft alloy.
