  1. OK calm down,  I don't want to buy yours!!!

BUT, as an owner you will know that they are supplied with two black oval blocks to mount the iris, these also can vary the height of the sight line, depending on which way up they are mounted. As each block has the threaded sight line hole off centre, and therefore each has two heights

One block has 7 mm and 2 mm approx, and the other block has  9 mm and 3 mm.

I'm hoping one of you has theirs using the 7 mm/2 mm one,  and that the other block, the 9mm/3mm is sat unused in their spares!!

    Because, HELP, I need a 9 mm/3mm block.

Please look and see, and sell it to me before it gets lost!!

  2. No longer need one thanks, as the NRA seem determined to restrict 300 mt access to Bisley we decided to move her Precise from the 300 mt rifle to her small bore as a 100 yd sight and get more use out of it!

For 300 mt she's gone back to the Gehmann 590. so another vote for that!

  3. Come on guys and gals, a load of you have looked at this, last look 382 views!! Now just sell me one!!!

She who must be obeyed has one on her 300 mt rifle, and also on her small bore for 50 mts, and now wants another one for 100 yds.

You are not going to make me buy a new one are you?? HELP!

  4. OK, this started as a pipe dream, Now I'm serious!!!! I'm going to do it!!!!

I want to fit a full bore action into a Walther KK500 Alutec stock, problem, I don't have a spare stock!!!

It must be a Walther KK500 Alutec, not interested in any other stock, it can be the just bare stock,or a complete rifle less the barrel and action and sights.

Please make an old man very happy, and after I've done it, also see the most stunning full bore imaginable!!!

The other problem with butt plates designed for small bore (MEC, etc), and used on full bore is recoil shaking things loose, and it does happen, and always at the most annoying time!

Not so commonly used, but great plates are the Walther KK200, and the Keppeler and both solid enough for full bore.

We both use the same plates on both small bore and full bore, and ISSF and TR. And like 600 says we use them on small bore and ISSF with hook and TR curve, and with out hook for the odd TR shoot.

I use the Walther KK200, which Walther still made to special order up until 2020, and I have several, on small bore and full bores. Its simple, solid, the curve adjustable to TR, and the hook is removable.

The wife uses the Keppeler plate (still available direct from them), its available in two widths (28 mm & 35mm), she has the narrow, and she has several for both small and full bore. The curve is adjustable , can meet TR. The hook can be removed, and the plate used with out for TR,  and with no real difference in support, just the location feel.

  6. Silly boy, sold the ones I had years ago, now I want some!

Wanted, RPA trakker sights, must be metric rotation (i.e not TR) and must be top Anschutz dovetail fitting.

    Could do with two.

Might consider Centra Sight Base LR at the right price?

  7. Hmmm, I know they made some of those stocks for Keppeler actions, but thats quite small spacing so its not that, the Keppeler spacing is 25 mm X 100 mm.

The stock is anodised in the main action holes, so not been drilled later, the main four hole action they made that stock for was a Bleiker, but you have a Bleiker so you'd know if it was originally pre adaptor that? So presume not, As standard they don't list that stock for many actions with a four hole fixing.

Ouch, I remember now, I think it was you Robin who a few months back mentioned that Walther action bolts were in a central line and NOT four of them in a rectangle. Silly me.

So my adapter on the Match 54 is not Walther Square to Annie Round. Frankly, I have no idea what my MEC stock was originally made for, but as I previously said, the adapter looks factory made, it is much narrower than an Anschutz adapter, id more of a flat plate about 20mm thick with a vee cut down the centre to stabilise the round action.

I will append some pictures in the New Year when I go back to civilisation.

    Merry Christmas.

Sounds like you may have a Keppeler stock to Annie round adaptor,  that's got four rectangular adaptor mounting screws and a vee, its to fit the standard action fitting Keppeler stock, may fit others with the same rectangular action screw fittings. I had an Annie made one on a Keppeler stock I bought, sold it on to "TR shooter".

I'm not an Annie person, but does the flat bottom Annie have the mounting screws in a rectangle? If its the same spacing as Keppelers, the Annie made adapter could be a flat to round Annie adapter?

The US Widen Barnard adaptor is very similar, I have one I modified to slimmer and used with a Barnard .223 for my wife's Keppeler stock.

The failing with all the adaptors is they can sit the action up a bit high, the only propriatory one I've used, the Widen, I milled it down to a lot lower.

Its a fun game, hours of endless amusement and frustration fitting actions in stocks they were never intended for!

My ultimate challenge is a full bore in a KK500 Alutec, any one got a stock they don't want!

    Happy new year,

  9. I have a 2012 factory accessory catalogue and there is no adaptor listed then, so if they were made they had been dropped by then.

BUT, they did list complete inlet stocks for all the round system Annies then as ai thought,  but that's in 2012.  Anatomic 1800 Euros, Alutec 1100 Euro's, they were dropped ages ago.

  10. Bearing in mind I consider Anschutz to be the spawn of the devil, its not some thing I've come across!!! So would not fit  one in a Walther stock!!

I missed the KK200 and went from a GX1 to a KK300, so the KK200 is not in my experience range, although I think its very similar.

Being serious for a minute, its really not an ideal thing,  but I know Walther did offer for sale KK300 stocks for Annies, but I think they were specifically inlet for them, not with an adapter (but I'm not sure), but that was 20+ years or so ago, and I'm only going on memory

But, I can tell you the KK300 stock, if they are similar is certainly not an ideal stock to put in other actions! All the action screws are on centre line  and well in front of the trigger and a flat action.

It's not the bolt cut out, its the trigger cut out, which has a big space that complicates it, even with its own action in the stock it has an  action screw through the trigger guard which can tension the stock, and is best left out!  I either have that one on  a soft torque  (4 against the others 6) with the screw in just really to fill up the space, or I tap the stock and put in a blank screw head, and leave out that action screw!!  Its a secret but, they shoot superbly like that!

My wife initially wanted a KK500 action in a KK300 stock, and it was possible, but a pig to do, and not really practical, so we quickly forgot that, she had it in a Keppeler instead, and they cursed her, as they had to make a special one off stock to get the trigger spacing,

If I could see both a KK 200 stock and 54, I could see if it could be done, I think maybe.

But I think its a lot of work, and the trigger height may not be ideal. It would need an adapter, the base of it would be easy- ish if its flat, and if there was space to have the fitting screws taped into it,  with a trigger slot, and bolt handle cut out, and then a vee to sit the round action,  and the action screws drilled. Bedding is almost BS on a small bore, as long as its not under tension and does'nt rattle they are great, the hassle is getting all the alignments and heights to make it a decent job, would not be my choice, or a job I'd do.

Have fun and Merry Xmas, and a great new year.

I believe there is a Keppeler Stock for sale at the Bedford Rifle Club.

At present I don't know any thing about it, only it was a club member who packed up shooting just last week.

I will inquire, or get somebody from BRC to contact you.

    Regards,

    Mick

    Thanks Mick

I only want the stock, but if it is a stock only could be convenient, as I will be at Norman Cross on the 16th for the three counties.

  13. I seem to be queuing projects up, I've just finished one, modernising an old  Keppeler stock and fitting an action, and I now need another stock!!

Not bothered how old or the model, the old K 05 would be ideal, I'd like a Keppeler, but may consider any alloy stock except an old Anschutz, maybe a Walther KK300 or 200?

Sadly TR is still generally in the 1960's, and the thinking behind the stocks seem to follow except with makers who also make small bores.

It is reasonably simple to fit any modern small bore anatomical grips to a Dolphin, BUT, it does entail altering the base of the stock, I go a step further and remove the integral trigger guard as well so I have a flat base and then drill and tap threads for the grip and  and do several locations so I came move the grip forward or back. I then fit a KK500 type trigger guard. I've done three for myself all with Walther grips, two with KK300's, the most recent with a KK500, and the first one I did just with hacksaw, files, and power drill, its not a complex job, but its not a direct swop.

I also shorten the fore end (much too long), and mod the rear to shorten it, simplify it, and fit a modern small bore butt plate, and remove the excess rear weight.  The cheek piece I mod and also make it folding so it can be much higher and still open the bolt, so not a lot of Dolphin left on mine!!!.

The only one I have now  heavily modified, which I got from "Journeyman" as a standard stock, and its the old slimmer one, is fitted with a Barnard P .223  and is a very trick 300 mt rifle, and is so modified its only recognised as originating from a Dolphin by those who know!

My advice if you want a better grip, if you shoot  small bore with a modern rifle,  just get the same  grip and mod the stock to fit, if you want to do it I can email pics, will keep you out of mischief over winter!

    Have fun
