Point taken!!! I have a 16 series barrel and action seriel no: 153287X it was made in 1978 and has the letter code stamped on it....

B*gger, I remember now why I stopped gambling. Well done Tim (again). I didnt realise what Ark Fitz mentioned, that you can/could get the swept back handles to replace the ones on the 14 series. Has anyone got one for sale? Having said that, have things come full circle, as the Bleiker and i think the new FWB have straight handles. Jonty Jonty when mine was fitted by the older chap that came with the Anschutz VW camper van he told me that there was then around 20 different handles to fit onto the bolts...He got mine down to two different handles one was a little tight but a better fit so he did a little work on it to make it fit spot on.

However curved bolt handles were also purchased at Bisley for many Match 54 1411 (16 series) so may even be an older barrel, maybe worth finding out the age by looking on the barrel near to where the action meets the barrel.. There should be a stamped leaf followed by two letters this code started from 1968 to 2013 the code is as follows:- A=0 B=1 C=2 D=3 E=4 F=5 G=6 H=7 I/J=8 K=9 1978 would be H....I/J

Have a look near to the serial number on the action where the barrel meets the action on barrel there will be two letters next to a leaf, follow this code to find out how old the Anschutz barrel is:- 0= A 1=B 2=C 3=D 4=E 5=F 6=G 7=H 8=I/J 9=K example H I =78 so 1978 However the barrel could have been put into a different stock!!!!!!

My club also were thinking of buying a 1903 left handed rifle, but after talking with Terry from BTS he told me that Anschutz no longer make a left hand 1903 so it would have to be S/H..

Nice butt plate picked up one of these a few years ago when one of the oversea teams were at Bisley Champs, this butt plate is fitted to my spare stock a Jim Newby which a junior club member is using to great effect ..........

Having used and owned a BSA MkII I never used a bi-pod for my rifle I saw to many of them fall over and get the sights bent!!!!!!! Even now I only use the bi-pod on my Gemini stock for cleaning and then only if I do not have my MTM rifle rack. have always laid my rifle down on its side that way it will not fall over.....
