I agree with Tim, in that the OP has been pretty open, so aside from an anecdotal misquote, I do not see any deception here.
 
The asking price has also dropped over the course of the thread and in any case has always been subject to offer.
 
Perhaps there is other politics at play of which the majority are not aware.

I don't think that quite fair, it was only the stock that was mis-labelled. The barrel/action has been described as a Match 54 from the start, rather than as an 1813 or 1913. To be honest, other than the matter of the foresight mount, a 1613 isn't mechanically very different form a new 1913. Yes, a 1613 needs a specific firing pin and spring , but the trigger is functionally identical to later models.

Fixed ... finally

To put it into context, it's good to see the whole event if you've never been before. There is one large tent housing the (4 or 5 ?) trade stands plus as mentioned above, second hand stuff in the stats tent. Equally though the NSRA shop over in the LRC has a reasonable amount of stuff to look at and buy plus they have some second hand stuff there.

I totally agree with your previous sentiments. As far as I'm concerned this should just be to buy and sell items, not to discuss their merit or provide a history lesson, however interesting that may be. That's why there are other specific forums here. There is a post pinned at the top of the for sales section detailing what it's for.

Doesn't anyone feel sorry for Greg here, what have you lot done to his sales thread. If your not buying you shouldn't really comment. He didn't ask for a history lesson...and the advert wasn't particularly deceiving in the first place. He described the stock as a 14 series and the action as a match 54 type, which is correct so why the analysis?
 
Perhaps a new thread in a different section on "dating and the Anschutz timeline" would have been more appropriate and helpful to all, or a discrete message if there's an error.

when you look at the ebay listing the seller is called trotter in welwyn, which is where laura trott the cyclist lives and hence the connection when the items are described as having been worn in delhi by her the seller, hence my comments previously about that being more appealing than one of your hats (neil) !!!
