  1. Whilst it may be better than nothing, I would suggest that dry firing should be practised with the gun that you are using and not a replica of it. It isn't really too much hassle having a gun cabinet fitted and inspected - although I can appreciate in rented accomodation the landlord might not want it bolted to his walls and/or firearms on the property. Rob.

Neil, Ditto - cheers for keeping this place running so smoothly . Rob.

    2013 Tube

Robert, Isn't that just the nature of the beast ? I'm sure there's technical arguments for and against but the bottom line is it's up to the ISSF to make up the rules. Isn't it a bit like the new rapid fire pistol rules in that ported barrels are not allowed (if I remember correctly). Those same barrels are permitted in other events yet surely the same applies i.e. they reduce the kick up. And I guess the main factor is that all competitors are subject to the same rules and regulations in any one event so does it really matter ? Rob.
  4. You're in Canada I believe so I would suggest you ask on Patricks site (targetshooting.ca). You may get lucky here but this site has mainly UK based shooters and hence will probably be of limited use in this regard. Have you also contacted Walther direct ti find out who their Canadian agents are ? Rob.

    Top 10 Posters

I assumed the 'top 10 posters' was an automatically generated list of the most active posters. I'm sure there's nothing sinister going on but I'm sure Neil will answer the question when he pops back here again (from wherever he's popped off to ) Rob.
  6. I use a small camera tripod - I think it's made by slik (?) It seems stable enough when I use it with a medium sized scope and because it's short it is ideal for putting on a table (& floor for prone). I think it costs around 25 quid - I can have a look at home tonight and might be able to tell you the model name / number. It folds down to about 10-12 inches long and can vary from that sort of height to about 3 foot max. Rob.
  7. Neil, If it ain't it flipping well should be !!!!! Rob.
  8. Clive, Can you not just type out a message in something like word, spell check & then paste it in here ? Rob.

    What is an avatar?

I tried and failed big style. My avatar that fits the box has way too few pixels, what can I do ?? Rob.
  10. Neil, Without sounding too lazy can I say ditto to Roberts post . I have no technical expertise in these things so as long as it's fairly easy to use then it gets my vote. As for cash I would prefer the sponsorship option. That aint because I'm tight, I just think we won't get many new members. A voluntary donation may be the way to go. Rob.
  11. Cheers all. Robert do you know what the fonthill system is based on ? I can probably borrow a few bits from my club and maybe cobble together a manual winder / changer. I suspect an electic changer would be too awkward to keep setting up & dismantling and you really need to get the tension just right for it to function properly. Also the distance is from my patio door to the downstairs loo and hence would need to be easily removable. I'm at Bisley at the w/e so I will see what they can offer. Rob.
  12. I have just realised that I can set up a 10M range indoors at home. I am therefore looking for something that I can set up in a semi permanent basis. Ideally an electronic or manual target changer would be what I'm after. It needs to be removable at the controller end but the pellet trap, light etc can be left fixed. Any ideas as to where I can get anything from ? I'll even consider the NSRA Thanks, Rob.
  13. Just a mini update. I decided to try and get some AHG pistol shoes and asked the NSRA to get them (this was early July). Apparently they placed an order and they are coming directly from Germany. Unfortunately they must be on a very slow boat going from Gemany to the UK via the rest of the world as they are still not in Worse than that no-one seems to know the status of the order, when they may be delivered or even if the actual order has been dispatched (or even placed). I'm wondering if I might even get them before the Welsh meeting in November at this rate Rob.

    Scatt System

    I got mine from the UK main dealer (2nd hand) - it's worth giving the guy a ring - I think it's diverse trading (?) - yep just checked - tel. 020 8642 9959 <hope that's OK with the mods ?> Rob.
  15. Robert, Cheers for that. I did have a look and they don't look any better than the 'skate shoes' which I sometimes wear. I'll continue looking around. Rob.
  16. Paul, And where can I get the AHG ones (or even see them) ? Thanks, Rob.
  17. I may have asked this same question some time back but I'm still trying to find anything:- I am after a decent pair of (pistol) shooting shoes. I have a pair of cast off's which are more or less OK but fractionally too small. What I would like to do is try some different makes out before I buy anything - so does anyone know where I can try them (even one make would be a start). Oh and any recommendations as to decent brands would be useful. Thanks in advance, Rob.
  18. Neil, I guess that will come in handy for those people looking at taking up underwater shooting Rob.
  19. Ian, Still didn't stop the blinking thing crashing though - either that or midway through loading a game off cassette I think I might still have my old (original) spectrum in the loft - must be able to get a few quid on ebay for it Rob.

    Air Pistol

Neil, I thought they were about 250 quid or so ? We have two as club guns and they seem fairly reliable and I don't recall them being too heavy. I think we may have got them from the NSRA so have a look at their price list (assuming the website is up for a change ). Rob.

    Air Pistol

I might be inclined to suggest something like a Tau that uses CO2 cartridges. I find that juniors often have big trouble cocking other air pistols - doing that can hardly help their shooting either. Failing that get something like a steyr LP1 second hand. Probably cost something like 400+ quid so perhaps too pricey - but you wouldn't need to upgrade it - and you could have a couple of grips if needed. Rob.
  22. Well multi day events can now be entered - as ranged events. Tip for those creating them check the colours. My entry appeared invisible until I realised I had white text on a white background I have also taken the liberty of adding nominated meetings in red - although I only know of airgun meetings. Rob.
