    Ruger 10/22

Huh hmmm, British Gentleman Point taken. Having lived in Wales for a year, I quickly learned to distinguish between the various nationalities living in the British Isles. David, isn't it true that a gentleman equipped with a brace of fine doubles and a good bearer can knock down ten birds faster than a cad equipped with an autoloader? Actually the average gentleman regards a side by side only suitable for bank robberies in the 1970s. When did you last see Prince Philip use a side by side? Semi auto shotguns are only suitable for Bruce Willis. The users like the feel of them and the way it makes them feel, far more than the practical sporting use of them, and often have worrying fantasies. For that reason alone they should be confined to the armoury and never never be allowed to be kept at home. Ever. That's an incident waiting to happen. S

    Ruger 10/22

My point is that gallery rifles seem to have all the attributes, except pocket size, that .22 pistols have. I don't make the law, merely observe that if you ban one there seems little reason not to ban the other. Section 1 is "pump-action" and "semi-automatic" shotguns, isn't it? I certainly don't like the idea of those being in kept in private houses so its right that they require a FAC. But in any case a gentleman would never use that sort of shotgun on a game bird unless a complete cad. S

    Ruger 10/22

Why not put more info and pictures on here? PM probably precludes some people from showing an interest which they are more likely to do given more information. For example I have a spare slot and have a mind at some time to take up LSR but its probably a bit early but given the right opportunity and the right gun might move earlier. Ruger standard triggers have a reputation for being disappointing has yours been changed or has it been improved by SYSS? What make of scope, magnification etc? Pictures are a great selling point and tell more than a thousand words. For those not into LSR they may have no idea what a Hogue stock is or what might be special about a rimfire magic stainless barrel. Why are you selling? Are you replacing with better or just want to realise cash from something that is not being used? An idea of price would be useful - What did it cost new and what are you asking for? As an aside I fired one of these things recently and I am surprised we are allowed to have them at all. Self loading and will fire as fast as you can pull the trigger, and you can have a pocket full of magazines if you wanted. Smaller than a pistol, of course, but otherwise just as potentially lethal in the wrong hands. Some of the 10/22s look like military bullpup style weapons and have very big magazines. Strange how they have survived really. Clearly the people that decide what and what is not acceptable as a weapon in private hands aren't very consistent. S

    Bits And Pieces

yes please are they 22 or 18mm centra spirit levels? S
  5. There's something you don't see very often: a conversion from fullbore to the noble arts of air. I'm glad you have seen the light, my child. Go forth and spread the word. I dunno, I'm not sure how many people I can convert... I started fullbore when I had plenty of free time and money. Then I got married Pellets are about the cheapest ammo as I can get and the propellant is widely available too yes fullbore is like standing on the firing point skimming 50p coins down the range in the rain luckily I cant go every weekend S

  7. Mmmmm. Nice but £2500- a fair price Im sure but the wife would go nuts on me Why tempt us like this. My anschutz stocked Gruniger never looked glam, now it looks primeval! N

    For Sale

Not a bad old 7.62. Proper wooden stock that replaced the original which had a magazine hole of course. Full anschutz rail for hand stop/single point sling fitted by Fultons. Parker Hale 2 click minute rear sights have iris adjustment and a few filters. Passed safety inspection at Bisley year before last. Holds bull pretty well, but 1000 yds is now asking a bit too much of it. Mind you, a brand new state of the art rifle probably wouldn't get me better scores at that range! I have managed to get a newer 7.62, but the main problem with the Enfield (for me) was a rather long stock for my rather short arms. Ill let it go for silly money plus the costs of the transfer ( via registered firearms dealers of course). S
  11. Squares go straight in, rounds require a £60 adaptor. At least that's how it goes with anschutz actions into Keppeler N
  12. well it also shows how easy it is to guess German compound words' meaning! S
  13. Complete 18mm cantable foresight for the Anschutz 'grooved' fitting (not block although it may fit, I don't know) together with .5 eagle eye and anti glare tube. The Eagle eye and tube have lost a little bit of paint where you grip on to tighten, but the foresight itself is clean and tidy. The foresight features half width horizontal bars so that even with a perspex element you still have reference for level. These bars are removal without need for tools. Pics on request I am looking to dispose of as one piece, but am open to offers for the seperate items Nick
  14. Having taken the plunge and bought a Keppeler stock I now have the old (1911?) walnut stock for disposal. This is suitable for prone ( it's not a thumb hole type). It's a bit worn of course but it has an adjustable cheek piece and I fitted a mini alu hook to the butt and still have the original plastic butt plate and spacer. My main problem with it was it was too long for my little arms! Ideal perhaps for someone who wants to change from the bulkier stocks with no cheek piece adjustment that came with earlier 1813s and 1913s. Oh, sorry, but I am keeping the hand stop. Make me an offer! Nick
  15. Any chance of a pic? And a price? S
  16. Martini actions arent they? Terrible for the shooter to the right who has to shoot through a hail of spent cases flying all over ! BSA ejected cases at our club easily fly all the way to the wall and then bounce back. And there is no way the shooter can eject less forcefully. S
