A bit of my FWB butt plate attachment bit just fell apart.
Its the funny shaped nut thing that the allen screw that goes through the legs screws into (apologies for the techincal description).
Anyone have one of these, or the whole assembly?
Failing that, who's best to approach about a replacement?
Will try and upload some better photos later when I'm not emailing them from my phone.

No, nothing fancy installed. Just the basic windows firewall and whatever hardware firewall the company has. I have little control over the connection unfortunately. Could well be a proxy problem.
Will try a different machine on the same network on Monday and see if the same thing occurs...
Thanks
What type of connection have you got to the 'net?I've seen this when using my mobile as a modem with the laptop due to the way the traffic is going through Orange.
You are probably behind a proxy server which can cause problems due to header striping ...
If you can get the same machine connected to the Internet directly then I would hazard a guess that it would work.
You haven't installed Zonealarm or other any other software firewall/malware products have you?

This is probably just a problem with my machine, but has anyone experienced a similar problem and how was it solved?
When I logon to the forum, it changes to the screen 'thesquiff is logged on: now transfering..." etc. Then sometimes it will revert to the logon page. Sometimes I can browse a few pages before returning to the logon screen again. Sometimes I can even browse as far as writing a post, but then when I press submit it returns to the logon screen.
Now this is happening on both Firefox 3 and Internet Explorer 7 on my work PC. It sounds like a cookie or session problem, but I've been through all the settings on both browsers and everything is setup to allow them.
Anyone any idea whats going on here? Or am I going to just accept that I should be doing work when sitting at my desk?

Also worth giving Clarkes in Blackwater a call- they often have a few in. Contact details here: http://www.aeclarke.co.uk/

Try giving Norman Clark a call. Known and trusted by many. Not always the quickest of people but can often knock together something decent for a given budget.

Still looking.....
You could try posting a notice on the board on the side of the range office. Imperial kicks off next week and about 1300 fullbore types will be swarming Bisley camp.

PM sent :-)

Happens with Firefox under Windows too. Version 2.0.0.14.

When logging on to the forum with my laptop, the bar at the bottom of the screen shows the following message:
(2 items remaining) Downloading picture https://www.paypal.com/en_us/i/btn/x-click-but21.gif and just stays like that.
If I control / alt / delete it shows a Not responding message.
On my office pc I get straight on to the forum (thankfully, so I can post this!)
Any ideas?
Walter
Sounds like PayPal's server was having trouble providing the donation button on that occaision. I've not noticed any problems in the large number of machines I use.

Looking for sturdy scope stands. Perferably the jubilee clip type - not had a huge amount of favour with the camera mount types.
If there are any spares gathering dust anywhere I would be delighted to negotiate a fair price.

still looking...

Now after another good .22 rifle, but this time for the club. As before - looking to buy quickly. Heavy barrel and decent butt hook preferred. Any offers?

Was experimenting with blue-tacking glasses to my nose yesterday - and hooray I could see the target. Optician reckons my eyes aren't best suited to contact lenses so am on the lookout for some shooting frames if any kind soul out there has some for sale...
-
Am interested to hear from people who may have a decent .22 rifle for sale. Preferably looking for a 1913 barrel or better with little wear. Decent butt hook would be a bonus too.
Looking to buy quickly - either PM me or email charlie@asqcomputing.co.uk with any details.

I think it was Batty who mentioned that I might try an extension tube to help correct long sightedness, so I'm going to give it a go!
I tried one I borrowed from Jimbo but it didn't fit my barrel, so I'm after one that is known to fit a 1907 barrel.
All offers considered.

13th November at our range. I think the other one may need to be rearranged. We may be up at Bisley again in a few weeks.

Matt, is this still available? I have someone who may be interested. Slightly more than he originally wanted to spend but he definitely sounded interested.

I think the problem is something like this...
The appearance of the new post markers is controlled by the timestamp of each post, and the "last visited" date, which as others have noticed, isn't getting set correctly. However, when you log out, and log in again, the last visited date IS set. So the problem seems to be when you leave the forum without logging out - i.e. when the server times you out. I'm thinking that this is probably a bug in the IPB software, and while we wait for a fix, the work-around might be to log out when you have finished a session on the forum, and therefore having to log in again the next time you visit. A bit of a pain, I know, but it might just make life easier!
Well done Clive, you seem to be on to something there. Logged out and problem seems to have gone. :-)

Sorry Neil, doesn't seem to have worked. XP SP2, Firefox 2.0.0.8. Deleted all cookies.

This is driving me mad. I haven't got the faintest idea what I have read and what I haven't.
New Post markers appearing where they shouldn't be, not appearing where they should be, and ancient dormant threads appearing in my "View New Posts" for no reason.
I going off to open a bottle of wine (or 3).
Does seem a little strange. Posts I've read are marked as unread and posts I haven't read are supposedly marked as read? That and everything since 18th October is a new post?!
As a bit of a techie I've been racking me brains a bit, but I have to admit I'm slightly clueless. Have cleared all cookies, authenticated sessions, history, everything else and still the problem prevails wherever I access the forum. Must be something to do with the database? Any ideas Neil?
-
No its not just you David, me too.
Also tried deleting cookies earlier today, but it still reckons posts I read about 5 days ago are new ones.

Login problems at work finally resolved following forum upgrade. Thanks Neil :-)
