For prone I presume! Don't forget that if your starting three p, a heavy barrel might not give you the centre of gravity that you need for standing or kneeling Also if you have a light barrel you can always add weights onto it to distribute more weight in the areas you need it, as delia says when cooking "you can add but you cannot take away"

Just out of interest, why a heavy barrel... It's apparent your wishing to start 3p... But why are you so set on a heavy barrel????
