Just for your information, I found the company that made the cable for the twiddly thing, it’s a specialized drive cable that will drive in both directions, the problem is they only deal with trade sales, won’t give out samples and have a minimum order amount, I forget what this is but it’s in the hundreds of pounds.
Not to say that we could order and split it up around the country !
Regarding springs, yes I believe Freeland have fitted a spring that would cope with the largest scope likely to be fitted to the stand, therefore once you remove the standard screw and replace the with a drive cable you will need to balance the spring to the scope, if you remove the standard spring measure OD and wire size, the go on eBay and match up a lighter option, this worked for me with a little trial and error, you will need to cut the new spring down possibly with a grinder.

Hope this is helpful and makes sense.

    Best Regards
    Jerry

    Hi all,

There's been someone who has joined the forum on what I believe is more than one occasion, filling out their profile with plausible info and posting enough to activate the PM facility but then acting suspiciously with other members.
The latest example claimed to be from Bedford RC in their profile but then told other members different stories when trying to sell them things.

We noticed that in one day, this individual had come on to the site via 20 different IP addresses, and not even from a reputable VPN provider but by what looked to be compromised devices of unsuspecting individuals.

All we can really say is that if someone is offering something that appears too good to be true, it probably is and suggest that you exercise caution. If in doubt, reach out and we'll look at some patterns behind the scenes.

All the best, and thanks for using the forum responsibly
    Neil

    Ramos,
You need to ask a price. It's a forum rule for sales, along with stating the methods of payment you accept.

    Hi all,
As part of security hardening, we have removed the ability to login with your "Display Name" as this was publicly visible and therefore "harvestable".
You should now use your email address (which is not publicly visible via the forum) as your username and your password remains the same.

    Thanks
    Neil

New stock hasn’t arrived yet, I think it has either only just been printed or maybe still is in the works.  No news of when we can get it yet, but once we get new stock it will appear on the website and we will put out some info via the usual social media channels.

Excellent forum, it serves it's purpose and more. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Don't assume that we are all social media FOMO addicts. Congratulations to Neil for doing such a good job in providing us this forum! 10 Dots

Yes there are other forms of media out there, but being a bit of a luddite, the discussions that abound on this forum are more worthwhile and informative. The answers and comments given are usually well thought out and helpful and whilst some may think we ought to move with the times and integrate with other forms of media, unless it becomes the only way for the forum to continue then leave it alone, it's great as it is.

Not really in to the facetubetwitterers type social media here!

I have always appreciated the level of sensible comment and the considered opinions that members spend a deal of time thinking about before posting. Therefore, I would add my vote to the side that is for keeping things pretty much as they are. I would also second 10 Dots in thanking Neil for keeping the forum up and running.

I quite often see posts where someone is looking for older Anschutz spare parts.

I would always suggest that a phone call to Arthur Harvey at Budleigh Farm would be worth the effort.

He has been at Budleigh Farm for about 30 years and an Anschutz dealer for that time although I would say that he is more likely to be able to help with wooden stocks than aluminium. He used to be a regular visitor to the factory at Ulm selecting rifles, barrels and parts and Dieter Anschutz is a personal friend.

His workshop is a bit like Fultons with loads of bits and pieces so if you are stuck for something give him a call.
