  1. Dear all

I'm looking for a replacement handstop for the one pictured here (best res available at the moment).

I think it is of US origin and is similar to (but has a smaller profile than) the plastic Anschutz one.

This mystery one has a 'pop in' sling attachment, a brass side/twist knurled adjustment screw and a metal post that accepts a short screw in bar, for quick adjustment.

Any information about possible sources or makers would be much appreciated.

  2. Wanted: One old PC laptop from the loft/bottom of cupboard/being used as a doorstop, for collection somewhere in London or the South East. Battery life not an issue as long as it has a power supply, a single USB port and is running Windows 2000/XP/Vista/Windows 7.

Our 16 year old IBM ThinkPad has finally given up and we urgently need something for nothing asap for training on the KTS target for Granada. Thanks in advance!

  3. We've potentially got an Anschutz 2213 alu round action stock for sale, blue and light wood finish like this one: http://tinyurl.com/mcdk2tx and in good condition. No handlift though.

There's no butt plate or sights, but the Anschutz butt plate carrier with two pins would come with it. Please email me if you want to discuss: mailjones@ntlworld.com

We're in Surrey, but there's a trip to Cardiff coming up in June, so transport might be sorted if you're based anywhere near. However, a few people know about it already, it might go sooner.

  4. Thanks Kirks. We've gone for a custom job...

For anyone interested, the parts list is:

    Flag ribbon as above (50mm x 400mm / 150 g/m2 ISSF spec) c.50p each (25m roll)

    10mm aluminium poles (B&Q) c.£3.50 each

Stainless steel 1 mm welding tig rod (free...)

Multipurpose plastic rawl plugs from B&Q (£6 for 50)

Small beads from Hobbycraft (£3.50 for loads)

We're mounting them like golf flags so we can mow over the capped holes and find them and not worry about clearing out the holes every time. We can't have any concrete down range, so the plastic pin cups are ideal:

PVC golf pin cups (ebay - £2.50 each)

Golf flag plastic ferrules (c.£2.50 each)

    Pics to follow

  5. http://www.biathlonsport.com/

There's an old site here, but with some interesting comments/insights: http://web.onetel.com/~hughp/

We have a biathlon shooter at our club. Apparently the Izhmash is the affordable alternative to Anschutz (http://www.izhmash.r...duct/bi-7.shtml)

... then there's the indoor training air rifle and target to buy, plus skis and rollerskis...

I can sympathise though. The coverage on Eurosport is excellent and they make it look soooo easy ;-)

There's some other banter here: http://www.targettalk.org/viewforum.php?f=12

  6. We've got a RIKA that we've never really got going with; bought together with a rifle etc from a club member who was giving up. You would need a very basic laptop to go with it, but it comes with an alu case and it is in good condition. We would sell it for what we paid: £400 if you're interested. Redhill, Surrey if you want a look before you book.

  7. We've learned that this is an 1807 with 1907 stock... apologies for any confusion.

It has a 2 stage trigger. Not sure how many rounds, but we understand the barrel is 1981, with the stock new around 2000. It has had regular club use by the current owner for about 14 years, with annual Anschutz servicing at Bisley. The barrel has helped keep its owner in X class for the last few years and has only been replaced in favour of a Border. No known probs and a recent quick batch test showed a best 10 shot group of 12.8mm at 50m, next best was 14.6mm, so it looks like it easily holds the 10 ring and is still a good barrel.
