  1. Blimey a nut for £10. I can remember having to pay well under a £1 for a stud that went through the side casing of the gearbox on my Morris Marina Coupe - No sarkey comments please! (Triumph Herald gearbox from the BL parts bin evidently) that was supposed to hold the reverse idler gear in place. It sheared off and the bits and idler gear trashed the gear box. I remember thinking that for twice the price or even more they could have made an indestructible stud in the first place.
  2. This is being sold by a Jason Ashdown and I got an email about it though I don't know him. Evidently comes with 3 5 shot mags, various tools and about 45 CO2 capsules. Just been serviced by Mays of London, the importer at a cost of £113 £225 or near offer - reason for sale is a new Steyr Contact Jason Ashdown on 01832 664202 Match_Airpistol_for_sale.htm
  3. Thanks for the pointer to HPS - I have passed this on. Walshc - I have sent you a PM with Mike Taylor's email address as this sounds like a good idea - or even a postal. Robert
  4. Anyone got any unwanted:- Sight raising blocks Palm rests Stands for Standing Boots Trousers going cheap!! Deleting Topics

Hi Kevin The topics are kept as a useful resource to look back on and also for new members to have a trawl through at leisure.
  10. Martin Whilst you qualified your post it does come over as if you are giving a hint of a warning about these sights or perhaps just to counteract my enthusiasm for them. Are you aware of anyone having had a bad experience and if so was this down to a design fault or what one could regard as a maintenance issue. I have never tested for what you comment on but I will be pleased to do a test to check up on this. Perhaps 25 right, 25 down, 25 left, 25 up will suit and should get me back to my starting point. If I did 2 circuits with 2 shots on each corner and then reverse the order for 2 circuits would that be a fair test at 50 metres? Clearly the test is limited by prevailing weather conditions and the nut behind the butt! Indoors I use an Anschutz modern rearsight with the minute (small) as opposed to minute (degree) sight adjustments rather than the more coarse version. Without checking the panorama paperwork I would estimate that the sight equates to the coarser Anschutz version. Big name sights have their issues and I once saw a Gehmann rearsight nearly cost someone the BOBS trophy through it being faulty. I was told that this sight was supposedly guaranteed for life and that subsequently they refused to do anything about it under the guarantee and so, as a result, I will never ever buy anything from them but that's my personal decision based on what I saw happen to the shooter throughout the detail and what he told me much later afterwards.
  11. I can heartily recommend these sights for 50m and 100 yards target shooting. I also bought one a couple of years ago and wouldn't use anything else now. The sight picture is fantastic but the more important factor is the totally unimpeded view of all the flags in front of you. Terry I'd sell one and give the other one a go on your rifle and you might be surprised at how your shooting in the wind improves. Basically it enables you to keep your head firmly behind the sights at all times ready to fire when the right condition presents and you can see the all important flags to your left that are normally obscured by the lump of a traditional rearsight when you have to use a left eye blinder. The flags on the right are easier to see with a traditional rear sight but I found it a particular problem on the left which was cured by the panorama rear sight. This would apply equally to a left handed shooter but I don't know if a left handed model is made though I would have thought they could easily be used by a leftie.
  12. Walter what a coincidence I am just about to do the same thing myself. I have been waiting for my new NAD USB Pre AMP to arrive and it came yesterday and also comes bundled with software to do the job. Robert
  13. Tim Unfortunately I am not into the history of target rifles and wouldn't have known if this was correct or incorrect. I was merely quoting the wording of the email I received verbatim, or warts and all, if there are any. Perhaps this might give you an interesting trip to Tavistock to check them out and then you can let us know what they are? Perhaps the vendor has them mis-described - the note did say that the shop was "fur and feather" and so the target rifle knowledge may be limited. It was Kevin Adamson who emailed me about them. Robert
  14. I was sent this email by a shooter and put it here in case it might be of interest to anyone. I don't know any more so you would need to contact the shop direct. "During a pleasant afternoon walk around Tavistock I happened upon the following golden oldies for sale. Two R/Hand, BSA Valmet bolt action .22 target rifles £200.00. Also a corking little ladies BSA Martini action, a true left handed version, and with an accessory rail instead of those annoying little holes on the underside of the stock. Also £200.00.The rifles are sadly the former property of a couple where the husband died, and his widow no longer wished to pursue the sport alone If anyone is in the market for a bit of true British shooting iron these might fit the bill. The vendor is Tavistock Country Pursuits, Proprietor is Paul Bevan. The shop is mainly fur and feather and took the rifles as a favour."
  15. 1. Anschutz 1807 Left handed. Little used, this in really nice condition with case. £400. 2. Canvas rifle jacket. Ladies left handed. Approx. 36in. Green and white, good condition. £30. 3. Scope stand. Champion’s Choice. A very superior rock steady stand. £50. 4. Rifle mat. Buttstop folding slab type. £25. 5. Steel gun safe. Painted green, 2 locks, 4 gun size approx. 132cmH x 25cmW x 20cmD. £50. PM me if you are interested - these are the vendor's descriptions and I haven't seen any of it but he's the sort to care for his stuff I have suggested that photos are a good idea and will put them up if I get any.
  16. Colour? This is, of course, the critical aspect to good shooting!

  18. Mike Wannell has emailed me to advise that his pistol is now sold to someone as a result of the post on this forum. That's pretty quick and this loot thread is a great benefit to shooters
  19. This pistol is 2 years old and in as new condition with the usual case, manual, tools, accessories and case. The vendor is Mike Wannell, the Devon County Pistol Captain who is upgrading to a shiny new toy. £575 ovno. PM me and I will pass on serious enquiries and provide Mike's email address, phone number etc. The pistol is located in Exeter. I have asked Mike to provide me with some pics which are usually requested for items for sale and will post these on receipt. In the meantime here is a link to the Steyr site on the Silver LP10 Steyr Silver LP10
  20. Interesting that you should post this request because I have just been asked to try and find one in the region of 52" chest for a club member in Bideford so if anyone's got an even bigger one that they are happy to part with please let me know.
  21. Glad to see you've found a left handed grip. Margaret & I searched high & low over the weekend and drew a blank - We're at a complete loss to know what we've done with it!
  22. NEIL I STILL CAN'T FIND THAT SMALL LEFT HAND GRIP SO WILL HAVE ANOTHER SEARCH THIS WEEKEND ITS AT HOME SOMEWHERE AND I'M RUNNING OUT OF PLACES TO LOOK FEEL FREE TO SOURCE ELSEWHERE IF YOU WANT TO AS I SEE THAT PETER FRIEND HAS ONE FOR SALE ROBERT
  23. In the latest Target Sports I see that Graham Manley has an advert to sell his business "Surrey Guns" as its time for him to retire. He is looking for buyers. Interesting time to sell a gun related business with the latest fullbore issues and no doubt not helped by the government's abolition of taper relief for Capital Gains Tax meaning that the tax will rise almost double from 10% to 18% for business asets. It seems that there are a lot of people trying to sell up before 5th April 2008 to save 8% CGT.
  24. Steyr LP2 Compact website looks like the grips are interchangeable with any Steyr air pistol They don't appear to do an extra small
